How this image was made
Recorded on the ledges of the easternmost coastline in the United States, from one position on the rock. A calibrated indexing mount stepped the camera through more than thirty overlapping frames covering the entire sphere — surf, spruce, and sky. Stereographic projection then folds that whole horizon inward until the shoreline closes into a world of its own.
Permanence
Wilhelm Imaging Research display-permanence rating of 65 years for dye-sublimation on ChromaLuxe under standard indoor gallery lighting (240 lux, 12h/day).
How each print is authenticated
- A serialised tamper-evident hologram is applied to the reverse of the panel, with its identically numbered twin on the paper certificate. The holograms are die-cut to disintegrate if removed.
- A code is engraved into the panel backing, linking the object to its individual record in this register.
- Each record is cryptographically signed, so any later alteration is detectable by anyone, without needing to trust this website.
