How this image was made
Photographed with a camera converted to record infrared light, which the eye cannot see and living foliage reflects strongly — hence the crimson canopy above an unchanged wooden boardwalk. Thirty-plus frames were taken from a tripod-mounted indexing head, rotated in fixed steps through the full sphere. Stitching and stereographic projection close the boardwalk into a loop that has no beginning and no end.
Permanence
Wilhelm Imaging Research display-permanence rating of 65 years for dye-sublimation on ChromaLuxe under standard indoor gallery lighting (240 lux, 12h/day).
How each print is authenticated
- A serialized tamper-evident hologram is applied to the reverse of the panel, with its identically numbered twin on the paper certificate. The holograms are die-cut to disintegrate if removed.
- A code is engraved into the panel backing, linking the object to its individual record in this register.
- Each record is cryptographically signed, so any later alteration is detectable by anyone, without needing to trust this website.
